There are already a number of Dr Seuss book-apps available for iPhone and iPad, courtesy of developer Oceanhouse Media. And if you’ve worn out The Cat In The Hat, Green Eggs and Ham or Hop on Pop, rejoice! There’s a new one on the App Store.
It’s The Sneetches, which might not be one of the most famous Seuss books, but is still a cracking read for children. Especially since it has a character named Sylvester McMonkey McBean.
The app includes voice narration, background audio and faithful artwork for each scene, with individual words highlighted as the story is read – a good feature for younger kids.
As part of a wider 50%-off sale on all the Seuss apps, The Sneetches only costs $1.99 / £1.19. Plus it’s a Universal app, meaning you can pay once, and install it on all your iOS devices.
