Developer Oceanhouse Media has been doing a great job of bringing the entire catalogue of Dr. Seuss books to Apple’s devices in recent months.
Having worked their way through what I’d think of as ‘the famous ones’, they’re now onto some of the titles that might be less familiar, but which feature the same blend of wordplay, humour and illustration.
Three went live on the App Store this week: You’re Only Old Once, The FOOT Book, and What Was I Scared Of? All three are Universal apps, so you only have to pay once to get them running on your iPhone and iPad if you have both devices.
Each offers three ways for your child to read: there’s voice narration, a Read It Myself option, and Auto Play, which turns the pages automatically – it’s designed for younger children.
Having been hugely impressed with the apps for perennial favourites like The Cat In The Hat and Green Eggs and Ham, I’ll certainly be giving these a whirl – not least because they’re very affordable.
