iPhone can prove there are no monsters in your child’s room

Monsters, eh? They might not exist, but try telling your child that at bedtime… However, if your kids are worried about big hairy things with teeth hiding in their wardrobe, a new iPhone app called Monster Meter could be your saviour.

It’s a monster scanner. You run the app to ‘scan’ any room, to check if there are any monsters hiding there. In fact, there are four different virtual meters within the app – the idea being that one of them will convince your child that nothing nasty is lurking for lights-out time.

It sounds ideal. Plus, there’s a special mode that you can switch on to detect monsters. Why you’d want to do this, I don’t know – the App Store description suggests “when in a haunted house”. Maybe you have to detect the odd monster to convince your child that it’s telling the truth when it gets a clear scan.

Anyway, it’s a lovely idea, and one that could be a big help to parents whose children are getting upset at bumps in the dark.
