Cowzat teaches cricket (and cows) to children on iPad

Cricket and cows: together at last! And while it’s a combination that would make for chaos in a test match, it looks pretty good as a children’s app.

The app is Cowzat, from Colour Me Interactive in Australia, and it’s based on an existing printed storybook.

“We present the dead-set truth about the origins of Cricket,” explains its App Store listing. “Well that’s our story and we’re milking it for all it’s worth.”

So yes, it’s all about a team of cows who invent cricket in a break from their farmyard duties. What appealed to us most was the illustration style: the cows are beautifully drawn beasts, all teeth and udders with marvellous facial expressions.

Cowzat costs £2.99 on the App Store, and is iPad-only.
